We are absolutely ecstatic to announce that Riverside Actors Theatre is partnering with ACANSA Arts Festival of the South for one night to present our first staged production, Death of Kings, 7:00pm, September 22nd at the AR Regional The Innovation Hub.
Thats right folks! Our first show written and performed by RAT Artistic Director, Ben Grimes, Death of Kings is a story about all Soldiers told by one. The play couples some of Shakespeare’s most famous speeches and Grimes’ personal insights to explore the universal costs and collective trauma of war. “Our nation has just exited the longest stretch of sustained conflict in its history. For twenty years we sent men and women into harm’s way. How do we make sense of all the pain and loss? How do we move on?” This performance explores these fundamental questions. A question and answer session with Grimes will take place immediately following the performance.
